Pom Pom Wreath How To!

post by Amy Small | pom pom wreath, home decor ideas | Thursday May 24, 2012

Last weekend, I started working on my first pom pom wreath. Nothing makes me happier than a sea of pom poms, so making it was a lot of fun to say the least.  I originally got the inspiration from a pin on Pinterest, a cute Christmas-y version. I am planning to decorate our booth at the upcoming TNNA tradeshow in June with these. This is the perfect project for scraps and leftover yarns!  The photos below will show you how I made mine!

Twig base about 9.5" in diameter from Michael's.

First I wrapped yarn around the twigs and started to make a lot of pom poms!

Clover pom pom makers make the best shapped pom poms in my humble opinion!  These ones create 2.5" & 1.25" in diameter pom poms.  I used about 6 larger pompoms and 20 smaller ones to make the wreath.

I then hand stitches the bigger pom poms to the yarn base, laying them out how I liked them!

Then, I started to add the smaller pompoms!

And voila!  All finished.

A few details shots!

Stargazer Silk Clutch Free Pattern

Yay! Another awesome free pattern by our fave designer Danielle Shields!  This time, she's created a super cute 1 skein clutch pattern using our Stargazer Silk & Sequins yarn.  I love the pointelle stitch and the way the contrast lining color pops through to the front.  This is just the ticket for a night out on the town.  The pattern is available for free on raverly, here

This one is made in our new silk color, Chartreuse. Can't wait to make one of my own!

I'm excited to share six 1 skein patterns using our Rolling Stone yarn with you.  They were all designed by our favorite go-to designer for adorable accessories, Danielle Shields.   These have been availble for shops to buy hard copies of since January but not available online until now! Finally, I got the hang of Ravelry and figured out how to add more patterns to our new online pattern store.  Please visit our Ravelry page for more info on all of them.  These are perfect patterns for gifts and knit up very quickly on big needles.  Pics below of each of the projects.

The Kitty Kids Hat, show in Buttercup Glow Rolling Stone yarn.

The Drop Stitch Cowl show in Shooting Star Rolling Stone.

The Favorite Beret shown at the top in Rambling Rose and below in Emerald Rainforest and Rambling Rose again. I love how it's knit in the round.  You can wear this as a beanie or back further on your head for a more slouchy look.

Me in the Turban Headband in Rambling Rose, I love this one so much!

Cute Boho Coaster pattern, shown in Morning Glory.  You can make many many coasters from 1 skein of yarn too!

Mini Purse pattern, shown in Poppy Patch- so cute!

Cozy Coffee Mug Warmer pattern, shown in Boho Dance- this one is a freebie download on Ravlery. Please check back frequently, I'm continuing to add to our store every day!
